The Tree Tops is a Green king owned Eating Inn branded pub on Mapperly top a five minute walk away from the main high street and set back from the road. This place is easily missed as the signs are not biggest and there are large hedges shielding it from a lot of passing traffic. We entered through the door facing the road and this was what seemed like more of the drinker’s area with no menus or many people in fact just a few tables and chairs as well as high stools and some bench seating. There was also another area up a level at the back that had a small bar that was branched off from the main bar in the other room. We walked round to the main room and the main bar and this was much busier with many people eating but still a fair few drinking without food so it is not exclusively for food. Being Green king the beer selection was poor with three of their crap beers on (IPA, Abbot and Speckled Hen) as well as a guest beer in the form of Moorhouses Premium Bitter at £2.94 which was a nice session bitter at 3.7%. We sat in the drinkers are but had we of stayed any longer would probably have moved to the dining area as this was much more lively and seed a bit more atmospheric. Nothing special about this place and no individualistic character with just generic chain decor and carpets, nothing stood out as unique or interesting but the pub was warm and comfortable. This place is ok for a pint and the beers are at least in good nick. Not a world beater by any means but a decent bog standard chain pub that at least has a guest beer. Would return if on a hop around Mapperly like when I visited then other week.

The Tree Tops is about a 5 mins walk from the middle of mapperley the pub is set well back from the road with gardens in front of it,this used to be a Kimberley house but Greene King now run this pub there were 4 real ales on from the Greene King stable i tried Morland Bitter which was ok there was also the usuall IPA, Abbot and kimberley Bitter on the pub is very large with different areas for eating and drinking a lot of the people in here were eating but you are just as welcome to have a drink i did'nt feel out of place just having a drink.
