When i first visited this pub it was called The Lord Nelson which was a John Smiths tied house.
Situated in the trendy Hockley area of the city centre,it attracted a more upmarket crowd than other pubs in the area.
Due to its location it was renamed to Image Bar,which was crap and eventually closed down.

The pub has now reopened and is now called Six Barrel Drafthouse.
Once inside there is a single L shaped room with the bar on the mid right side, the floor is bare boarded, there is comfy bench seating to the rear and a mix of tall tables and chairs and normal tables and chairs elsewhere.
There were six real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Castle Rock Harvest Pale, which was a very nice drink, the other real ales were Purity UBU,Shiny Affinity,Copper Dragon Golden Pippin,Theakston Black Bull Bitter and Adnams Broadside.
The service was friendly and the pub quite busy on my Saturday afternoon visit, background music was playing.
I quite liked my time in this pub and good to see it open again.

now Called the Six Barrel draughthouse!!

The six Barrel draughthouse is a new pub/bar that has been built in the premises of a crap former bar that has previously Ben dormant for the past couple of years. Inside is one room that bends around the bar at either side with lots of tables and. Hairs as well as some long bench seating in front of the main bar. the decor is more of a moder style with me shiny wood and metal panelling and hard Woden floors that are not really to my liking but they have made a respectable job of things. The bar has six hand pulls that in my visit were suspending Hatvest pale(£3.10) Trooper (3.40), Roosters Yankee (3.35) Harvuston Bitter and twisted, Purity Ubu and a beer from pentrich brewery as well as a back wall of craft beers. The harvest pale and Bitter and twisted were both in a good condition and about averagely priced for the area. The clientele consisted of a younger, trendier crowd which was fun and gave the bar a very lovely Saturday night on the town atmosphere. This place is very much like the newly opened Hop Merchant in look but with a far better beer selection and far superior staff as well as a younger demographic. I liked this place and would return on a weekend at night when I want somewhere with a bit of atmosphere but probably would avoid during the day as its not the a quaint, quiet getaway to enjoy a peaceful pint type place but anywhere new that sells a good range of cask ale is always welcome.
