The original 1950s pub is hiding somewhere inside this building which has been added to at various times in the intervening years. This was the start point for my Alan Winfield Memorial Pub Crawl, and although I was disappointed to have a substandard half of Greene King IPA for my first drink, at least it wasn't John Smiths Smooth Crap. We were the first customers through the door at 11am, and caught the barman still apparently getting his act together - there were two other beers on, and he initially poured two of the same beer despite our clear instructions for two different halves. With another 19 pubs still to do we drank up and headed out for our bus from the stop just outside.

The Festival is a very large pub and the only pub in Trowell.
This pub was named after the festival of Btitain which happened sometime in the 50s.
Once inside the pub has got two rooms with a small bar to the right which is carpeted and had a pool table and bar football in it,there are no pumps on the bar in this room, there is a lot larger room to the left which is the lounge, this room is carpeted and had leather settes and chairs plus normal tables and chairs.
There were three pumps on the bar with one unused and one with Everards Tiger which was'nt ready this left Bombadier on the third pump and this was a fairly decent drink.
The pub does food but none of the tables are laid out for this,so as a drinker i was quite happy having a drink in here.
