Alan Winfield left this review about The Crown Inn

The Crown Inn was a basic corner pub that was just down the street from the Queens.
The Crown was one of the few pubs that survived the meadows slum cleareneces in the late 70s.
There were two rooms inside with the bar to the left and a smarter lounge to the right from the corner entrance, the bar was always very busy and it had a bit of a rough reputation, the pub was an Home Ales tied house and there were two real ales on the bar we usually had a drink of Home bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Home mild.
The pub is still standing and still has its signs outside but it has been closed for a very long time now.
