A good sized pub with an L shaped lounge and bar area along the back wall. The interior had exposed oak ceiling beams, some original cornice work along the back wall and the colour scheme was mainly white with some red painted feature walls. The pub was very busy on our Friday eve visit, so the atmosphere was good, the majority of the customers all seemed to know one another, so a well supported community pub. This is a Marston's house so the beer was fairly limited. Four handpumps with three in operation on our visit, Wainwright, Jennings Cumberland and Marston's 61 Deep. Prices were reasonable and the beer quality good. I would have scored this one higher, if the beer choice wasn't as mainstream.
