I caught sight of a solitary hand pump when I was walking past last night, but it was after 10pm when the bar is supposedly limited to residents only. So I'm here tonight and that hand pump is pouring local Alnwick Brewery Amber 3.8%. I had the same beer earlier today at a pub in Amble, where it had been rebadged, but there's no disguising that it's not very good. Their other beers have been much better, so there's a bit of a pattern emerging. Anyway, it's Acceptable, in CAMRA's new rating system, but being charged £2.80 for a half is scandalous. Actually it's not too bad for a smart hotel like this - I paid more down the road in Alnmouth the other day
