This brightly painted pub looks attractive, but once inside it's very ordinary, with the three hand pumps offering Landlord and Dizzy Blonde, with a Wainwright pump clip turned around. I have a rule not to drink Landlord outside Yorkshire, and I couldn't image ne drinking a pint of Dizzy Blonde, so I had a half plus a half of Neck Oil on keg. The Robinson's beer was Acceptable on the new CAMRA ratings scale, and if there was a similar scale for keg beers then the Beaverton beer might have been the same. It's a warm day and I'd cycled about 15 miles and I'd have drunk owt, to be honest. I sat on some benches outside to escape the dreadful pop music filling the interior. Why is it always Uptown Girl? It's quite pleasant out here, with summer flowers in planters and house martins flying to and from their nests on the side of the pub.

A tidy and floral yellow-painted exterior. Inside they were playing The Carpenters which about summed the place up - inoffensive, safe, a bit middle class and slightly tedious. Cask ales on were TT Landlord, Wainwright Amber and Robinsons Dizzy Blonde.

Yellow painted pub at right angles to the main road suggesting it’s an old building, the bar is accessed by a side door. A single bar runs from front to midway back, behind that to the left is a small dining room. The counter takes up the centre right hand wall providing a home for three pulls; Alnwick Gold, Titanic Plum Porter and Robinsons Dizzy Blonde as well as two mid height T-bars with usual suspects although Neck Oil and Brixton make an appearance in this Heineken-Star pub. Rough plastered walls with exposed brick fireplaces at each end, decor is mainly photos of the area. Very dog friendly.
