Blue Scrumpy left this review about The George

The only pub left in the small town of Desborough, I entered this pub from the rear car park and through an outdoor drinking area bedecked with astroturf. Inside, there is a large bar area split into different sections and a separate room on the car park side.

This appears to be a pub well suited to watching sports on the TV, with multiple TVs dotted around. I also spotted a dartboard. Locals (mostly elderly) seemed to be enjoying themselves listening to an eclectic soundtrack that included Scooter and some heavy metal that I didn't recognise.

Real ales are not too inspiring - Doom Bar, Atlantic & Pedigree. This is no longer an Everard's pub. The landlady was friendly and it was good to see somebody serving people in order, rather than dealing with locals first.

The George is a nice looking stone built pub that is situated in the middle of Desborough, this is one of the towns two pubs.
Once inside there was a fairly large square shaped room to the front, the serving bar was to the left, the seating was a mix of normal tables and chairs and comfy bench seating.
There was a pool table and hood skittles to the rear right and a darts board to the front right.
There was a seperate room to the rear left which had some tables set aside for diners.
The pub is an Everards tied house, there were two real ales on the bar,we had a drink of Everards Beacon bitter which was a nice drink, the other beer was Everards Tiger bitter.
We were happy enough having a drink in this smart and pleasant pub.
