Old Boots left this review about Dog & Gun Country Inn

Pretty much a restaurant with beer although there is a small bar area sometimes taken up by diners as well. Very modern décor, it has had a recent renovation, two thirds of the ground floor is taken up with permanently set dining tables. Entering from the car park you arrive in the L-shaped bar with bench seats, candle powered low tables and even lower leather stools, there are also a couple of high “posing” tables. This is of course the kind of establishment that wouldn't be seen dead with beer mats on the tables not even the type you help yourself to from a tasteful rack. Laminate floors and white walls with some artistic and interesting photos of everyday objects, for example a post box and a local sign post . There are two banks of handpumps, an unused two pull at one end and a set of four serving Yorkshire beers among them Black Sheep, Copper Dragon and Timothy Taylors, I had an excellent pint of Golden Pippin. Naturally there is an extensive wine list. Service is strongly oriented to a restaurant style. On my lunchtime visit the place was busy exclusively with middle aged, well heeled diners as the badly parked Merc's, BMWs and 4X4s in the carpark should have warned me. There is also a tent outside the main door, obviously not a smoking shelter, its use is unclear. Live music every Friday is advertised but I am not certain of the musical style, my guess is modern jazz or a tasteful and subdued acoustic something rather than a Sex Pistols tribute band.
