Can't say I found this that impressive. Locals pub with weak real ale and standard kegs.

This is a great local community pub which is owned by Admiral Taverns. It has two small rooms, a public bar on the left and a sports room on the right. The main entrance leads in to the public bar which has a small bar counter in the middle of the back wall, small brick fire place in the left hand wall, two flat screen TV’s, one in the front left corner and the other on the right hand wall and lots of black and white photos of people on the walls who I assume are regulars. There is a door on the right of the public bar which leads in to a room with a central pool table, a dart board on the left hand wall and a piano against the back wall with a large flat screen TV on the wall above, there were large signed photos of past snooker players on the walls. The décor is slightly modern but somehow the pub has kept a traditional atmosphere. On the left of the public bar is a short corridor that leads out to a paved patio with picnic tables and a gazebo at the far end which has been positioned over a rather old and battered pool table. The pub sits in an idyllic village green type of setting despite being close to Huntingdon town centre.

Regular ales are Fullers London Pride and Sharps Doom Bar with a single changing guest beer which on this visit was Ringwood Boondoggle (GBG 2011). I had the Pride and Doom Bar which were both in excellent condition, I would even go as far as to claim that it was the nicest London Pride I have had for many years. My only wish was that they had one or two local beers on.

This is one of those hidden gems I keep hearing so much about, I really enjoyed this traditional community pub. I was in Huntingdon on business for a few days and while I tried to sample as many pubs as I could, I always ended up back at this one for a pint or two of London Pride. The landlord and regulars were very friendly and helpful which made me feel extremely welcome. This is the first pub I would go to if I were to visit the area again.
