I suppose one cannot blame the owners of this pub to try to be all things to everybody, in the off chance they might make a living from it. So it's a cafe, it's a pub-cum-restaurant, it's a camp site. The building dates to 1800, though it's been added to and altered so many times that there is nothing original discernable either inside or out. The bar counter has three hand pumps with Timothy Taylor Boltmaker and Sharps Atlantic on, with Seafarer turned around. My half of Boltmaker was in reasonable condition but in my opinion a bit pricey at £2.40.

Criticism is meant to be constructive,so here are my constructive comments.Piping a commercial radio station may result in good music but adverts for blackhead removal cream, even if they are voiced by Joanna Lumley ,do not enhance the pub experience.Carbon is the building block of nature but I dont need to ingest any more from burnt baguettes even if the cook has gone to the considerable trouble of scaping off the worst traces. Its quite a feat to serve three different ales in the same indifferent condition.CCTV has kept crime off many High Streets throughout the land but why is it necessary to have 13 seperate cameras in a family, food orientated pub and then transmit the results on a rolling screen fully visible to anyone buying drinks at the bar. However this was useful to inspect the progress of my bald patch. What on earth are the local CAMRA branch playing at selecting this place for entry in the Good Beer Guide.Even the kids pool was empty and full of crud.
Rant over.
Very pretty barmaid.
