Thuck Phat left this review about Kings Head

The only pub in Pollington and popular with the locals consequently.
It's a friendly spot with a welcome from the landlord and several nods of acknowledgement from the assembled company around the bar. To the right as you enter is the 'games room' with large tv screen, showing the footie on our visit, darts and pool with seating to the right being used by a society or two by the look of it but no food. The abundance of England flags, including those used as tablecloths, along with a slightly musty aroma gives a gently tacky, rundown feel which is alleviated by banter and good atmosphere in the place.
Ales on were Tetley, Old Mill Bitter and an 'off' Fullers Summer Ale which the landlord replaced once he realised its condition. The Old Mill slipped down well though.
If you fancy a real ale or a game of pool then this is the place if in Pollington. If not, there probably isn't enough here to divert you.

Bucking Fastard left this review about Kings Head

The only pub left in Pollington, and a short walk from the popular mooring on the Aire & Calder Canal, this place is popular both with locals and boaters. There is what looks like a Georgian portico but the bay windows are PVC .It's a small building with two sections either side of the front door.To the right is a pool table, darts board, flat screen and limited seating while to the left there are larger tables, draped in England flags on our visit, and wooden chairs. Most regulars gather around the horseshoe shaped brick faced bar at the back of the pub.
The pub features in the 2012 GBG and has four handpumps with Old Mill Bitter and Tetley's as regulars, yet only one guest on my trip in the shape of Fullers Summer Ale which was on the turn. The locals were all drinking the Old Mill ,which was a wise choice. The only sign of food was the takeaway that the landlord and landlady were tucking into while serving, all the punters were drinking although the website talks about food availability.
The small interior means that it is easy to get chatting to other customers,it maybe that at the weekend there is a greater choice of ale.If you want a beer in Pollington, this is Hobsons choice.

Fine one bar village pub with tv and pool.
Food offering with early bird menu until 1900.
Upto 4 Real Ales on hand pull with Tetley, Black Sheep, Old Mill and Wychwood Hobgoblin on my visit.
Beer garden and paking to the rear.
Accomodation available.
