Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Trowel & Hammer

Obviously an old hostelry, but recently thoroughly refurbished so there is not a lot of character left. The decor in and around the main bar is semi-modern, as are the chairs, but the tables are more rustic. The layout retains a second bar at the back which houses a pool table, around which were grouped the only other customers on a Thursday evening. Four of five handpumps in use, offering Ruddles Best and Bombardier plus Lighthouse and Ghost Ship (£3.40) from Adnams.

The Trowell and Hammer is on a busy road just south of the city centre and is a few doors up from the Coachmakers Arms.
Once inside there was a single room with the bar facing, this room had bare boards and normal tables and chairs with some small stools, there was a seperate area off the main room with a pool table and TV in it.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Fox Mr Toad and this was quite a nice drink the other beers were Everards Tiger bitter and Sharps Doom Bar.
The pub was fairly quiet on my late afternoon visit, but it had a decent enough atmosphere.
