The Cambridge Arms is set in a fairly posh looking area of Bristol.
Once inside there is a single L shaped room with the bar facing, the room is bare boarded, the left side had pew seats and chairs and there were normal tables and chairs, the right side right side had normal tables and chairs, there was a large screen to the rear right which was showing rugby.
This is a Fullers tied house so there was a choice of their beers on the bar,i had a half of Fullers Front Row which cost nothing as it was not on the till and the barman did not come back to me once it was on,so a free half,i was well pleased, the other beers on the bar were Bengal Lancer,London Pride and a guest beer Bath Ales prophecy,my Fullers front Row went down very well.
There was a large screen to the rear right showing rugby.
The pub was very busy and getting geared up for the England rugby game.
I thought this was a smart decent pub to have a drink in,it was also very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.

A good sized, traditional pub with a large beer garden at the rear and a small terrace to one side, it’s clearly been renovated at some point and has lost the Victorian interior that it presumably had originally, but is nonetheless pleasant enough in a more contemporary way.
The interior is all one open plan, L-shape room, painted in shades of chocolate brown and fawn. Flooring is mostly wood strip, with some tiling near the entrance, and there were a few black and white pictures of old Bristol on the wall, including one of the Dutch House that was destroyed in the war. Seating was mostly conventional tables and chairs, and some of these were squeezed in to spaces that weren’t really big enough. A plasma was up in one corner which was perhaps slightly out of place, but fortunately this was not in use on our visit.
The menu looked to consist of a selection of pub grub dishes, with options such as fish & chips, pie of the day, ham & eggs, etc., and these were mostly priced around the £10/£11 mark. There was also a small specials board.
Good choice of beers on tap with Butcombe, London Pride, Oliver’s island, ESB, Dawkins Bristol Blond and Seafarer’s Ale. Ciders were Aspall’s Suffolk and Thatcher’s Gold. Overall I thought this was a pretty decent pub, and I will no doubt pop in again if in the area.
