Quick revisit found the place a little down on my previous visit. Just Doom Bar and Abbot on and my Abbot wasn’t much to write home about. Unusable dart board, muted SKY sports and dim lighting, Two plus points were the ruthlessly efficient barmaid and the planes made of beer cans that hung from the ceiling in a nod to its proximity to Heathrow. Best pub in the area, three beers are usually on the go (Pride, Abbot and Black Sheep) in decent nick. Fairly modern horseshoe-shaped interior and a decent regular crowd kept in good order (this is Stanwell, after all). Basic food is available. Big on their sports and pub is dog-friendly. If you're fiddling with jumbo jets over the road and need a pint at shifts end, this is the one for you. Rated 7.
