There's still no real ale - and no sign of any food when I visited on Monday lunchtime.

It's a larger pub than it looks from the main road, stretching a fair down the side road, with a largish sports room tacked on at the end. You enter into an area with a few normal tables and chairs and with a raised seating area on the right; further along on the left is another carpeted and raised seating area with mainly banquette seating; and the bar counter stretches along the right hand wall. Beyond this is a sports area with no less than six fruit and games machines, a dartboard, and leading back to another room with three pool tables. There's another fruit machine, plus a pinball (Spiderman) near the entrance at the front. There are also a few picnic benches at the side of the building.

There are of course flags of Euro 16 participating countries all over the place, plus large screen TVs obviously. The tone of the place is perhaps demonstrated by the signs for ice cold jagerbombs; shot bombs; and for Carlsberg, Strongbow and John Smith's for £1.75 after 6.0 PM on a Monday. Obviously I left well before 6.00 PM.

On looking at the pub from the outside I was not surprised at what it was like inside. This is not a pub to which I'm ever likely to return, but I'm glad it's still there and hope the locals appreciate it the way it is.

Large pub that is opposite Hounslow West tube station.A single bar with an area that goes a long way out the back.No real ale but is not too bad if you like a pint of fizz.Live sports shown on TV if you are into that sort of thing.

my idea of a pub. fun friendly and cheap.not the prettiest but worth a visit if you enjoy passing the time in conversation with new friends over a pint
