This is a Greene King pub, so there are no surprises as far as ale choice is concerned. When I was in they had on GKIPA, Abbot, and St Edmund’s. I didn’t see any sign of food, but I was in there mid-afternoon on a weekday, so perhaps they had stopped serving for the day. This struck me as a fairly basic pub, affecting no airs or graces. Furnishings comprise banquettes with normal tables and chairs, and it’s carpeted throughout. The walls are mainly dark panelled, a bit tatty in places and in need of a little refurbishment. There’s a central island bar with separate individual drinking spaces revealed as you wander round the back. The area on the right of the bar has a pool table. This is yet another pub that subjects its customers to Magic Radio.
I reckon this a basic locals’ pub. There really is nothing special about it (particularly the beer), but is OK as somewhere to stop off for a quick one if you’re walking up to Harrow-on-the-Hill station.

This is a decent enough Greene King pub that has three hand pumps which were serving up Abbot, Morland and IPA on my recent visit. I found the barmaid to be very friendly and I had a decent pint of Guinness and a fresh ham salad roll from the selection on the bar.
The bar swings around to cover all three sections of this horseshoe shaped pub with a quieter drinking area to the left behind the bar which houses a golf machine. The front area has a plasma screen and a quick step to the right takes one into the third area which houses a pool table and portable TV. There is some more seating in a room at the rear and it was good to see a dartboard set up for some arrow throwing in here. The courtyard out the back is split in two with the left hand side being for smokers and the raised right hand side being for drinkers.
After reading the signs around the pub I gleaned that there is a quiz every Tuesday night and this pub is the place to be for Wii fans on Sunday nights.
I liked it in here and would definitely return if passing.
