A very large pub on Southport's Promenade with a seating area at the front. This wasn't an option on a cold a windy Tuesday evening. Not too bad inside these days, so something must have been done in the 6 years since Al visited. The main room is huge with several different areas even though it's all been broken out into one. There also appears to be an upstairs area, but we didn't investigate this. Sky Sports appears to be the main draw here, with loads of big TV's around the walls. The problem with these places is that when there's a big match on it's probably full, but on a cold Tuesday it was dead with only about 6 of us in the whole place. The cask ale of "Hobsons" choice was Wainwright which was in reasonable condition. A friendly Irish barmaid was doing the serving and she looked bored out of her skull. We finished our drinks and went round to the rather good Fuego's restaurant around the corner for our evening meal.

It looks like its OK from outside but its a bit of a dump inside though it did look like some work was getting done on it when I last visited in July.
