I have in my notes that it was 2015 the last time I was in here. It was also a favourite hangout in my student years spent in Liverpool. These days, it feels like yet another late night bar in Liverpool's main nightlife area.

On a midweek evening (open until 2am), only the ground floor bar was open. There are further bars in the basement and on the upper level. Beers were Shipyard Pale Ale and some kind of lager called Liquid Vinyl. I had the latter, which I simply couldn't finish. I'm sure the beer was fine for lager lovers, but it reminded me just how much I hate lager. The barman hadn't got a clue who even brews it.

Music was playing as usual and a few people were having a bit of a boogie. Some toga-clad guys outside looked a little cold, with the summer evenings well behind us. In fact, the street it is on is an interesting place to people watch. All kinds of people pass by these doors.

The Jacaranda doesn't feel like it once was, but then most of my visits were in a different age!

one of the more tolerable night venues in the city, it’s a decent enough place if not as characterful as it used to be. Music choice was indie/alternative when I called in. The main bar now has just standard national keg beers, a rather underwhelming choice. Upstairs is primarily an ‘immersive vinyl record shop’ but also serves as an extra bar, downstairs is for live music at night.

Now re-open and fully refurbished. A lot of the Beatles pap has been removed, though one corner still has photos, and the stairway that used to be in the middle of the room has been filled in. Real ale is available and you are still going to be hearing The Beatles for the billionth time. Comfy seats are now in place. Still an upstairs and a downstairs area.
