A good looking pub in orange brick with bay windows and twin gables at the front, but the effect slightly spoilt by the addition of a front "garden" (a Covid addition, I would guess). This is another heritage pub interior, but unlike its neighbour, the Park Inn, it is still listed as such, though to me it looked like to have quite a few modern features. Maybe having glass doors like the Hilton hotel doesn't count against, but I also thought the bar counter looked new. Apparently the former billiards room is the most impressive part, but I missed its "panelled walls, bell-pushes, curved counter, stained glass, and impressive mahogany fire-surround", so I should have gone for a wonder. I think I was a little distracted by all the Holts posters in frames, with their food offers and function room hire, and TVs and video screens everywhere; plus the beer wasn't as good as at the Park - Holts Bitter again, but NBSS 3 only. This just wasn't such a warm, friendly pub as the first one, and that's more important than original features, however beautiful and well-preserved.

Much better inside than you would perhaps think from the external aspects.

Multiple rooms and very clean. A classic pubby feel, with TVs on but not intrusively and several groups of regulars. Holts beer in perfect condition. Friendly staff.

The White Swan is a Holts run pub with a multiple room layout, much like other pubs in Manchester. The usual Holts keg is available from the bar that also supports four hand pumps that were all badged with Holts Bitter. Televisions were airing football and horse racing. Live music and a disco is advertised for Saturday nights. Out the front are some picnic tables on AstroTurf. I found this pub to be friendly and I would return.
