Very large, but rough and ready JW Lee's pub set in a residential area. The main bar was very busy on my late Friday afternoon visit, with an after work crowd starting sessions on lagers and other draft delights. There was much shouting and swearing, despite the presence of a few schoolkids too.

A separate room at the far side of the building seemed to be much less sparsely populated. I caught a glimpse of a pool or snooker table, but gather that this room is primarily used for events and functions.

Bitter & MPA are the regular ales. Seasonal specials were Malt Crush & Dray Rumble. Possibly the worst of my 8 Lee's pubs visited.

Large J.W. Lees pub, which underwent a supurb refurb a good few years ago,and is situated on the edge of an housing estate about a mile from middleton town centre.
On entry the bar faces you after passing a line of back to back leather bench type seats that are on either side of the door.Further right is a railed off raised area that seems to be geared up for diners, and to the left another raised area this one with Chesterfield setees and other seating.Past the bar on the left through some double doors is a large vault, and there is also a function room to the right of the main room.Called in on a Thursday lunchtime and already quite a few of the pensioners brigade were taking advantage of the food offers. They had the usual suspects on tap plus 3 Lees hand pulled beer. The pub caters for all ages and found it clean and tidy with a friendly team of barstaff, and is worth a visit if you are in the area.
