The George IV is an open plan pub with a carpeted left hand side and floorboarded right, both faced by a bar counter that runs across the rear wall supporting standard keg. Televisions are located throughout. There was a lively group in watching City play in the Champions League via BT Sport and a few older gentlemen were a bit more sedate watching Accrington Stanley v Bolton via Sky Sports. In the right front corner is a pool table. The service was polite, but this is a locals boozer not worth the short walk north from the main drag.

A characterful opened planned pub with a multitude of sporting pictures adorning the walls.Called in one Wednesday lunchtime, and found the pub spacious but yet inviting, clean and tidy, cheap beer, and very helpful barstaff.just outside the town centre, but worth a visit
