Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Brook
Corner Greene King pub on the eastern edge of the city, given a rather anonymous semi-modern refurbishment at some point. Partly opened out, but there are still distinct seating / dining areas on each side of the central U-shaped counter. Indian menu, not elaborate, but still with a reasonable choice. Unexpectedly, Wantsum's Dynamo and Cushty Peeve from Milestone available from two of the four handpumps (with Landlord being the previous cask ale on, and Ghost Ship the next).

Downmarket GK pub on a corner near the railway line. It was refurbished a couple of years ago and opened out into a single large U-shaped bar with a games area at one end and a dining area at the other, with laminate flooring throughout. Food is the usual GK fodder, unappealing and bland. The games area has a pool table and dart board, and there are TV screens dotted around. There is also an annoying jukebox. The pool table was being used to entertain young children. Service was very slow, and the welcome wasn’t that great considering it tries to be a good local. Ales on draught were Woodford Wherry, which was undrinkable, GK IPA which was in very poor condition, Abbott and Old Speckled Hen. Not worth babbling on about.
