Tris C left this review about The East Hill

The East Hill Hotel as it was, dates from the late 19th century, located in a remote backstreet location close to an intimidating motorway/gyratory system.
The interior is attractive, bare boarded of course, dark lacquered wainscoting then white walls up to an ornate white coffered ceiling with pretty cornicing. The bar back is a modern wood and mirrored affair though the bar front could be original. Furniture is tall or ordinary, some chairs being quite plush. Décor came in the form of identikit trendy eclectic prints with lighting from traditional hanging stuff, including some crystal chandeliers. Lavs weren’t the best, with two unisex cubicles and basins, then two urinals jammed so close together that I could probably have determined my neighbour’s religion, should I have been so inclined. Customers were affluent locals, including some babes. Six Nations was advertised, but without the horrible World of Nations flag twaddle.
Cask amounted to just three pumps dispensing London Original, so it was yet more Oil at £3.70 a half, served in one of those horrible Beaverville ‘tumblers’, by a barman of average performance.
This is quite a nice pub – certainly better than the Roundhouse – but the choice of dreary London Original (times three) is utterly feeble; the Proper Job option would have got the score up by a point.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The East Hill

Attractive two-room Geronimo gastro-pub, partly opened-out to leave a bar and dining area of about equal size. Benefits from large windows on two sides as well as light furniture and decor. Compact patio terrace on the eastern side. Four real ales on handpump: Doom Bar, Wandle, Truman's Swift and LBF Chelsea Blonde (£4.20). Pleasant atmosphere with Wimbledon on the TV late on a sunny afternoon.

This is still the food led pub that has been described previously. When I entered I was greeted by the strong smell of fish, possibly because someone had shelled out £16.50 for the “pan-seared hake, shitake mushrooms, Chinese leaf, leek, ginger, soy”. The sandwiches were £7.95, including chips – I was glad that I’d already enjoyed a late ‘spoons breakfast.

They did have four ales on though – Doom Bar, Cornish Coaster, Redemption Pale Ale, and Cronx Brewery (based in Croydon) Standard Bitter. I went for the latter at the odd price of £3.79 a pint.

The interior is as already described – it’s still the same standard gastropub with its full complement of sofas, armchairs, tall butchers block tables and tall stools, although there are a couple of standard tables with standard chairs in the bar area. The original ornate ceiling is definitely the best feature in this pub in my opinion. But for a gastropub the ale selection is above average, and apparently not rididulously overpriced either.
