No cask. Basic keg offering of Kopparberg crisp apple cider, Guinness, Camden Pale Ale, Stella, San Miguel & Fosters.
Relatively recently re-opened venue. Quite a plush make-over, bare boarded throughout with the bar counter on the left-hand wall in the front part of the venue, with tall stool seating at the bar counter. Tall tables on the right-hand wall, becoming regular tables as you move to the rear of the venue with the odd leather bench supporting. Similar seating configurations in the area on the left-hand side in the rear part of the venue, with a space given over to a dart board. Screens were showing Sky Sports News with sound off the noise provided by a decent pop soundtrack. Nice lighting but whilst it is lovely to see the venue reopened, would have been lovelier with a more exciting beer selection! Fair to say a fair number of images of the local lad himself!

Rex Rattus left this review about Sir Robert Peel
Both handpumps in here were clipped, one with Greene King London Glory, and the other with Abbot Reserve (6.5%). The barman had trouble finding the price of a half of the Reserve on the till, but a colleague found "real ale" listed at £1.60 a half, which I reckon is great value for a 6.5% ale. I didn't see any sign of food, but there were Christmas menus on the tables offering three courses for £25. At that price it must only be available on Christmas day.
Although it is now a Wellington pubco pub, it seems they specialise in Green King beers. Clearly it was once a Watney's pub juging by the external signage. On the subject of signage, a first for me here with the gents being labelled PCs, and the ladies WPCs, presumably as a reference to Sir Robet Peel's establishment of a police force. But just in case some bloke didn't make the connection a "ladies" sign had helpfully been added to the door to the ladies. Unfortunately they were clearly having some work done as there were ladders and other workman's stuff lying around, making it a little more difficult to explore thoroughly.
This pub was a lot more comfortable than I expected, having a good quality carpet on the floor and nicely upholstered banquettes. It looks as if it's had a refurb in the not too distant past. There are TVs on the wall, and an outside seating area at the back. Another first for me was to see the two pet abbits running around in the outside seating area.
This pub is a bit tricky to find, tucked away as it is in a backstreet off Walworth Road. At least this time I did find it, whereas last time I looked for it I failed as it was recorded at the wrong address (thanks Tris). It's still a backstreet locals' pub, of the type that is definitely a threatened species. It's certainly worth a punt if you're in the Walworth area; I rather liked it, but to be honest it's not really worth going a long way out of your way to find.
