Another of the area’s pubs dating from at least the early 19th century, rebuilt in the 1930s by A. W. Blomfield, Watney’s chief architect; a Royal Standard to the corner covers up one of their infamous Red Barrel motifs.
The place is broadly L-shaped, carpeted, a white and pale blue colour scheme, white louver blinds, darts and multiple noisy sports fixtures competing with good sounds from the jukebox. Furniture is conventional with some tables made from barrels, décor taking the form of beverage manufacturers’ mirrors with a clutch of sports' trophies above the bar and ‘fake’ stadium signs: Elland Road, White Hart Lane and Celtic Park; there are also some very saucy motor mechanic plaques in the loo (see photo). Customers were a resolutely local bunch, mixed in age and in good spirits making – annoying unwatched TV sport aside – for a good vibe.
Unfortunately, there’s no cask here, a half of Stella costing £2.70, served by a friendly barman.
This isn’t a bad locals' pub, far better than the Beehive, but its flanked – and outflanked – by the Black Prince, Dog House and Old Red Lion.

The Little Apple is a smart looking corner pub that has a nice backdrop of a tall block of flats,shame it was'nt a 70s built estate pub,i would have been well happy doing a pub like that in this area of South London.
Once inside there is a single iregular Shaped room with the bar facing,it looks like it used to be two seperate rooms in the past.
There is a pool table in the middle of the room,the seating was a mix of bench type and normal tables and chairs,the room was carpeted,a TV was showing table tennis from the commonwealth games.
There was one real ale on the bar,which was Doom Bar,this drink was ok but slightly too warm.
There was a few locals in during my visit.
This is a proper locals pub,that i was quite happy having a drink in.

There was no real ale available here - just Guinness, keg John Smith's, and the usual array of standard lagers. There was no sign of food on Saturday afternoon. There are no airs or graces, or gastro pretentions in here. The main room as you enter is dominated by a pool table in the centere of the floor, complete with racked cues against the wall. To the right is another drinking area which would have been a completely separate room in years past, leading to a garden. Furnishings are all normal tables and chairs. The lower half of the walls are painted with a light wood effect paint, which I always think looks a bit naff, because if it was stripped back to the bare wood it would probably look better. It's all a bit scruffy in here, but don't let that put you off.
There was a TV on in the right hand area showing the rugby, but unfortunately it had to compete with some TV quiz show in the other room. The only decor is various adverts, plus six nations flags around the place. But it's a real pub, and even though it won't get into the GBG, if the locals like it the way it is then good luck to them. But without a decent ale available I'm unlikely to pay a return visit.
