An unmarked pub (no visible signage) in a run-down shopping concourse of a run-down housing estate. A decrepit Taylor Walker lantern is located at the rear of the buildings, overlooking a public car park: evidence that this was one in its clutches. Internally, it's as much 'club' decor than pub, but I didn't encounter the hostility Steve did 7 years prior, neither did I encounter any real ale, although they did have John Smith's Smooth "crap". A pint of Fosters came in at £3.70 for a pint's worth, and a pull-down screen showing a World Cup game gave me something to take my mind off the three barflies happily effing and jeffing. Easily the worst pub I've visited this year, but I've been in worse, so it doesn't quite get the overall gong.

The Hind and Hart is an estate pub located in the shopping area of the Grahame Hill area. It is not much to look at from the outside, but it does have a proper pub feel inside, even if this is made a little frosty by some of the locals. I found the service to be friendly enough, but the Guinness was undrinkable and in hindsight I should have opted for the Stella that everyone else was drinking. There is a dartboard and pool table along with a jukebox that was turned off in favour of horse racing that was being shown on one of the two projector screens. The A board outside proudly states that no football is shown because it’s not worth it. I’m not sure if this is a remark from a manager that doesn’t like football so won’t show it or from a manger that is not prepared to pay the Sky high prices. The only food that I saw advertised were rolls available for £2 from behind the bar. No under elevens are permitted and there is a late license until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays when I think there may be live music as there is a little raised area to the right of the bar where bands could set up.
This isn’t really a pub that one would stumble across if not living locally and this is probably a good thing.
