Went past this week to see the place closed and looking like it may be shut down for good. The pub sign has gone and that's never a good sign.
Will keep an eye on the situation but I guess it was struggling to compete with the resurgent Queen and Albert down the road and more pertinently the working mans club next door, which hands out membership like confetti, therefore providing the local builder community access to cheap beer..

(October 2010)
The Red Cow is one of three traditional pubs that surround and overlook the large green space of Wooburn Green. The interior is well described by the previous reviewer and outside to the front of the pub there are bench tables for when it’s decent enough to sit outside.
I believe it had a reputation for being frequented by the local youth a while back, but it’s always had a mixed clientele on the couple of recent times I’ve popped in on the way home from work.
As described it’s a GK pub with three hand pumps on the bar. These tend to be IPA , Abbott and then a third ‘guest’ beer from the GK stable.
The beer has always been well kept in my experience but only the usual GK fair, so now has serious competition on that front with the nearby Steps now dispensing Rebellion Brewery beers.

A 17th century pub, that gives the feel back into the gold old fashioned english pub. A pub split into two, one half comfy and cosy carpeted and a large open fire, wich blazes in the colder months of the year giving off a glow you expect from and oldy worldy pub.
The bar part has 2 large leather sofas with a large coffee table for the people who just want to take a load off and enjoy a cosy pint or a drink of wine. this area also has wooden floors, a pool table Juke box and fruit machine.
The pub is clean and tidy and nicely decorated with pictures from the days gone by when it used to be the slaughter house for the catle market wich used to be on the green.
The pub is under new management, chris and jayne the new lanlord and landlady welcome everyone. They are a lovely couple who know the values of a true pub, they keep a clean and tidy house, also serving a nice pint. They serve three real ales, ipa wich is always there, and 2 guest ales, wich are kept very well and taste tremendous, for the real ale drinkers, they must be tasted. the usual lagers are on sale here, with an exeptional pint of guinness. The lines are cleaned religously ensuring an exceptional pint everytime.
Sunday dinners are served every week, and i can say they are frsh cooked sunday roast with a vegetarian option. and a choice of puddings. they serve coffee , tea, cappucinos and chocolate drinks. I can guarantee you wont be dissapointed.
