Once on the main Aylesbury to London thoroughfare, this is now the sole pub on the main drag since the advent of the A413. Under the clutches of Fuller's this still retains a patina of character. Enter from the front, and the bar area is a long rectangular, bare-boarded room which rises as you head towards the right-hand wall located bar. A huge inglenook-style fireplace in the lower bar area and exposed beams and posts (painted black) along with a jade-coloured wood panelling (don't tut - it works!) maintain some of the traditionality. Some old (and some manipulated) photos of Great Missenden give this place a decent decor. Fuller's ales only as you'd expect - Pride x 2, ESB, Oliver's Island and Spring Sprinter (£2 a half). The go-to / only pub in Gt Missenden.
