Strange layout. You enter from the side and find the bar facing you. No real ale and no cider on tap. I took my Guinness to the seating area below.

Alan Winfield left this review about Rose & Crown

This pub is just off Sleafords main shopping street.
The Rose and Crown looked fairly nice from the outside with its white painted walls and it still had its old Mansfield brewery signs outside.
The only entrance to this pub it at the side in the courtyard, the courtyard would have been a nice place to sit and have a drink but it looked a bit scruffy and unkempt, once inside the bar was facing and there was one room which had two levels the lower level at the front of the pub looked quite smart,we had a drink near the bar this was a narrow area and it had bare boards, the seating was comfy bench type and small stools, there was a large tv on the wall playing loudish music.
There were three handpumps on the bar and all had their clips turned round when i asked for a drink of real ale they said we dont do it anymore so it was a choice between John Smiths smooth crap or Guinness i had a Guinness.
The pub was fairly busy early saturday dinnertime.
The pub was smart enough but i was a bit dissapointed about there being no real ales on here.
