Large one roomed place with bar to the left. Nothing of strength ale wise so opted for Scrumpy. Quite quiet on a Saturday afternoon but would expect it to get busy on an evening.

Soup Dragon left this review about Ye Olde Crowne Inn

A corner pub and eatery, which also does accommodation. It is a nice example of the 20th century mock-Tudor look. It has a ground facade in stone, with bay windows, a single entrance and several large lanterns. The uper storey in in herring-bone brick with timber frame with casement widows and there are a couple of dormers perched on top.

The interior is an irregular shaped room since the old room arrangement was ripped out (whenever that was). The decor is a mixed one of; wood panel, green painted wood panel, coffee upper wall and ceiling (with some white), a moulded cornice and a mix of tile, wood and patterned carpet flooring. There is a mix of leather perimeter seating, various comfy chairs, tables and chairs and green stools, with lamps and books and other things i would find in Auntie Lorraine's front room. There is a raised area where a band was setting up. The walls had prints and old photos on them and a few fakey fireplaces. It is set-up mainly for dining it seems, but i haven't eaten here so can't comment on that. There is a TV, but this wasn't on and the background music was general and at a decent level. The service was fine and there were a couple of others in at our visit.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Hobgoblin, Brakspear Bitter (not on) and an OK Sharpe's Doombar

A nice exterior, but the interior is too fakey for me after its refurbishment - personal opinion of course. The beer choice was uninspiring and not of great quality. More of a food place for me.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Ye Olde Crowne Inn

A very handsome looking pub this one and has equally appealing interior also. The staff are very presentable and friendly. Three ales on T Taylor, Hobgoblin and Tom Woods Lincoln Gold which was excellent. Also serve very good food, so all in all not one to miss out when visiting Lincoln.
