Alan Winfield left this review about George Hotel
The George Hotel is a fairly large three storey stone built pub.
The front door to this pub is out of use so you have to go to the rear to gain access, once inside there was a fairly large room that ran across the front of the pub this room was in two halfs the bar was to the right, this room had wood pannelling and had a plush feel to it,the ceiling was beamed, there was a lounge area to the left which looked very smart, there was also another room to the rear of the pub and a large lobby area which also had a few tables and chairs in it.
There were two shelfs running around the bar area and these were full of single malt whiskys all were in use and there must have been a couple of hundred of these, has a single malt drinker i was very impressed with this range of whiskies on offer.
There were four real ales on the bar i had a drink of Batemans XB and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Taylor Landlord,Bass and London Pride.
This was a really nice comfortable pub that i would have happily stayed in longer if not on a pub crawl.
