An imposing suburban estate pub (inter war?). Large inside and quite plush, looks to have had a recent refurb. The right hand room is the locals haunt with TV snooker, red and gold pub carpet and red orange and gold striped padded bench seating in a raised area. There is access to a rear garden. The left room was unused and in darkness. The smartness of the interior was somewhat undone by the uncleared good tables that must have been there for a while - lazy. Surprised to find three pumps with Everards Tiger (fine), Sleigh Bell and Tyne Bank Monument (good) on. Overall quite a pleasant surprise, a shame that a couple of simple things were overlooked. 5.5
