Spent two nights here. We were made to feel very welcome on our arrival. Ate all our meals here. The food was wonderful, especially the full english breakfast and sunday lunch. Real ale was batemans xb and and a porter. The xb was beautifully kept, but as did not sample the porter I cannot comment. The room we were allocated was basic, but clean and there was tea/coffe making facilities in the room. No en-suite, but the bathroom was just down the hall and again was spotless. Would definately recommend to anyone visiting the area, and we hope to return - this time with our children as they have a family room which sleeps two adults and two children. All in all a wonderful weekend break. Thanks to Brian and Trina. xx

Visited this pub while on holiday. The owners (new owners in July 2010) were very friendly. It appears to be a family buisness with everyone helping out.
They were happy to allow our dog into the bar and happy for us to have a meal in the bar with the dog.
The food was amazing, we ate there twice 1st time surf & turf and gammon, all cooked perfectally. Second time was sunday lunch which was so pouplar thay ran out 2 hours early. If you have a sweet tooth the dime bar pudding is to die for.
If we didnt live so far away we would be back there in a second.
