The White Swan is situated in the very quiet villge of Shawell.
Once inside this pub has been done up and is now more of a gasro type pub,there was a large square shaped area near the entrance which had a few seats but not that many,the bar was to the left this area was also square shaped with a posh looking stone floor and leather bench seats,there was a large and very smart looking dining room to the rear of the pub,unusually the kitchen was situated to the front left of the pub.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Dowbridge Legion which was quite a nice drink,the other beers were Dowbridge Raeted /Gladiator and Adnams Broadside.
This pub was far too upmarket for our liking,but the pub does open all day from 11 so it does cater for drinkers.

Recently relaunched with a new chef and new menu..."Stones Resturant"...Sirloin or Fillet Steak on a stone, cooked by "you" at your table with stilton sauce,pepper sauce,mustard,chips and mixed roast vegtables. The Chef has recently returned from working in Italy for 6 1/2yrs at a mitchlin star resturant...varied menu reasonably priced...I ate here recently and found the owner to be friendly and welcoming...if you want a different dinning experience I would highly recommend you visit this pub.
