Locals' pub with a fairly traditional interior. As you enter, there is a lounge area to the front left and a more open-plan bar area to the rear left. Off to the right is a games area with a pool table, a couple of dartboards, a TV and a few trophies. A corridor leads to the toilets (labelled Charlie's & Camilla's) and an outdoor courtyard, used by smokers.
The bar can be found between the two rooms on the left-hand side. Bass was the cask ale. There was also a Doom Bar clip turned round on one of several unused handpulls. Sharp's Atlantic could be found on keg. The cider was Carling Black Fruit.
The pub has a car park to the right-hand side where a vintage bus is parked up next to the pub's wall. This houses a barbers, of all things.
I thought this was a decent community local with plenty of character and which served a good range of ages, both young and old and both men and women. There were some rather loud examples of the fairer sex in the lounge, which encouraged us to sit watching pool being played. I have to say that the locals were very good at pool, with games over in no time at all.

Unfortunately no XT Brewery beers to be found on this visit. There were 6 pumps, with 3 in use, all of them dark beers. Two of their beers were from Alechemy and one from Ferryhill Brewery. The layout of the pub is well described by Thuck Phat. The lounge area to the left of the entrance was the best feature here.

Just been to my second beer festival at this pub, and it is certainly one to aim for if in the area and you like a superb choice of well kept real ales. They aim to keep an XT brewery beer on as a regular, plus around 6 or 7 guests. They are on the main bus route from Nuneaton, Coventry and Leicester and easily walked walked from the railway station at Hinckley. Friendly staff who know about beer.
