Will Larter left this review about The Lamb Inn
Traditional pub, it says on the modern hanging sign which has replaced the traditional one. Certainly externally it has all the appearances of a coaching inn of a certain age, and it's an adornment to Ashby's main street. Once inside the tradition lasts no more than two metres from the front door, and even then I'm being generous in counting a Guinness mirror as traditional. The inside of the pub has been hollowed out into the usual town centre drinking barn that can be seen on high streets up and down the country, with wide screen TVs everywhere and tradition be damned.
There are three hand pumps that I almost missed seeing, positioned as they are behind a pillar. There's Old Rosie cider, Sharps Doom Bar and Marstons Pedigree, and although my Pedigree was OK, there's nothing to get excited about on the beer front here. This place could be so much better if only someone would make it more like a traditional pub.
