Still a fairly good pub. down to earth and lively in the summer months though more subdued last time I was here. real ale tends to be a dull choice, but at least they serve it.

I've not visited this pub, but I do know that it used to be an opticians where the comedy legend Eric Morcambe purchased his first pair of trademark glasses (source: Eric Morcambe's son - Comedy Map of Britain)
