Jumbo GK pub which has been knocked-through to the extent I'd wonder if it's in danger of collapse, few obvious RSJs spotted. There's an attempt at faux-trad in the first couple of areas but it's all quite bland. A huge bar at the rear, like they're expecting standing room only (rugby, maybe?). Six sticks, most of which are adorned with Lilleys cider. The two cask weren't on; the polite but clueless barmaid radioed upstairs to check, a new one on me. I ended-up with a keg GK beer - Level Head - which was an appros of nothing. Feels like a missed opportunity; flog it to Timbo, I reckon Spoons could make a fist of it here.

A slightly peculiar town pub with a rather mismatched interior. I don't know what the designers were aiming at but they missed. Despite lots of signs claiming sports screens, there was not a lot of sport going on; the promised air conditioning was not working; and the upstairs bar was shut. Having said that, the place was not actually unpleasant and seemed to have a good trade in shoppers. Ales on were GK IPA and Tribute, which was drinkable.

Well described by others, below, this busy Greene King town pub feels a bit like a Wetherspoon but without the sophistication. Two large banks of megakeg taps frame an array of handpumps dispensing Hardy’s and Hanson’s Rock On, Wadworth’s 6X, Old Mulled Hen and Tribute, plus a pump with a reversed GK IPA clip and a dry one. The beers were awful, badly kept and served too cold, while the food was the usual GK factory produced stuff. Children were roaming freely, congregating at the bar and screaming loudly. The staff were apathetic, and the atmosphere was depressing. Not looking to revisit any time soon.
