Blue Plaque outside details its history as a coaching house. Now its a bit basic, with no cask offerings on at all. Tired decor. Comedy signage. Pool table in bottom room. Bench seating and stools around the bar above.

A reasonable pub though it could do with a refurb. One real ale which is still Cumberland. A raised area to the right of the bar could possibly be used as a stage or dancefloor. Or fight. A small collection of steins are in a cabinet opposite the bar.

Called in here on the 13th of Feb the only place in the town were people spoke to each other the girl behind the bar was nice and chatty. Kept every body smiling talking about one of the customers she had been with at the weekend.Had a pint of cumberland which was good if in the area would call back
