seems to be in the process of ongoing refurbishments since it flooded last winter. not a particularly great pub and hasn't been for a while but it does serve an important purpose in the village as a locals community boozer. close walking distance from the university (about 10 minutes from the south end) but was assured I am the only student that has been here for a while.

This is a very pleasant, traditional pub with good access a reasonable range of beers and typical pub grub. There is a step across one side of the main room making wheelchair access difficult, but a side door makes it possible.
The car park is quite small and parking on the main A6 is “interesting”. My dogs and I were made to feel welcome and the fire was warming on a cool spring evening. Best Pub in Galgate in my opinion.
