This is a back street estate pub, but nothing like one of those flat roof places. The bar is to the left as you enter and there are two other distinct areas despite being all one room. There's a pool table in one and there's also a quiz machine and a jukebox. There's no real ale, but I was served by a friendly barmaid who, when I ordered a half of Carling, pointed out that my half would be £1.50 and a pint of Fosters was only £2 during the happy hour. A no brainer, I had a half (not really). This is a proper locals pub, very friendly and pretty busy on my Friday, early evening visit.

a pub if u didnt know heywood is hard to find on birch street. not my fav but got caffreys on draught so worth a visit.
