Smallish town centre pub apparently tied to Thwaites, one main room on entering with counter to left, there’s a snug to the right and a room with a pool table behind. Usual mix of old and new encountered in this kind of pub where some bits are updated but they can’t be bothered or maybe can’t afford to renew other parts. In this case the snug, apart from upholstery on the benches, chairs and stools, appears to be untouched, there is a bit of grey woodwork of course, you just can’t escape it, but the old photos decorating the room were interesting. It has a window so you can see in from the main bar, useful for avoiding unsavoury characters such as Pubs Galore reviewers. Screens and machines in the main room, a narrow affair. There’s also piped music which a Vicky Pollard lookalike couldn’t hear - must be deaf, yes but no but... £4.80 for Thwaites IPA seemed excessive to me for a 4 % beer although in good nick, but no but no, other places in Burnley were sub £3 for comparable beers! The second pull had Thwaites Gold, and the usual fizzy stuff was on a low T-Bar. Mix of ages but not the most pleasant pub I’ve ever been in or been robbed in.

A good looking pub from the outside. Inside it's got great potential, but is a bit shabby and needs some TLC from Thwaites. Several small rooms with flag floors and there's a pool table and a table football, there's also a beer garden at the rear. Good music being played, although it was much too loud. Service was poor as the barman had to be told I was waiting, despite it being quiet. Asked for the Wainwright which was the only cask ale available. It went off halfway through being poured. The barman didn't know if they had anymore and didn't know how to change it even if they had. I ended up with a half of Carling at £1.50. This could be a really good pub, sadly, at the moment, it just isn't.

A bit of a dive but its friendly enough. Lots of Union Jacks hanging around which was nice. A Thwaites pub but not the best selection. Could do with a refurb.
