The Grey Man is tucked away in the backstreets of Daisy Hill so isn’t somewhere out-of-towners like me would stumble across by accident. As such it had a handful of locals in during a recent midweek evening visit. In the front right is a really nice seating area with banquettes, a pool table and a dartboard. For some reason this area was empty, the locals choosing to congregate around the grotty bar area with U-shaped bar counter towards the rear. Limited standard and premium keg was available. At the very rear is a conservatory and out the back is a grass covered beer garden with a few picnic tables. Televisions are found throughout, The Factory with Greg Wallace was on with sound. Regular discos and karaoke is advertised. This a Star Pub’s venue, and the lease is available. A sign outside says ‘refurbishment planned’, certainly needs it. I’ll be leaving this place to the locals in future.
