Churchgate is long and thin with a bar counter up the left-hand wall that supports standard keg alongside four hand pumps. Three were reverse clipped so the only cask was Pulp’s Rhubarb Craft Cider. I ended up with half a Carling that was served by the polite barman. At the rear of the counter is a pool table and seating is found beyond. At the very rear is a stage with a wooden DJ booth for the weekend when I bet this place is much busier than the three or four punters in during my recent Tuesday evening visit. A weekend bar.

A ripped out, laddish barn with no distinguishing features at all. There's a pool table at the bottom end which was surrounded by a group of shouty knobs. TVs everywhere, so very sports orientated. 4 handpumps, but only 1 on apparently selling Greene King Lancashire Ale, which as far as I can tell doesn't exist, so a rebadge of some kind. It was crap and at £1.20 for a half was more expensive than Fosters which was £2 per pint which tells you all you need to know really. It's awful.

This looks like a brand new pub but is just an old pub refurbed and renamed. Its open plan inside and stretches back to make 2 areas. The bar is to the front and there are 5 handpumps on the bar. Annoyingly all 5 had there clips reversed but checking on what they were this may not have been a bad thing. GK IPA, Abbott and their own beer called Churchgate Bitter. Not a great start but hopefully the beer selection improves.
