A revisit the other day found three ales, St Austell tribute, Rebellion Smuggler (NBSS 3) and Loddon Hoppit (2.5).
September 2016
A radical makeover inside and out – the two interior rooms have been whacked together forming a horseshoe-shaped bar. Stripped wood flooring, blue and mushroom shades. Now gone into a mad ale push, 8 pumps with 7 on; Mad Goose Purity, White Horse Village Idiot, Hogs Back TEA, Bingham's Space Hoppy, Adnams Bitter, Rev James, Tribute. My Adnams had an odd tinge. Notably expensive if you’re just having a half. Is going to need to try and attract the student trade to keep that sort of range viable – can they do it? I'll give it another go.

Looking up a bit here - new management, a lick of paint and a push on the ale. Worth having a look if you're in the area.
Sept 2014
Not much change in the last couple of years. Doom Bar and Youngs Bitter the other day. I'm told the manager is on a weekly contract so this place looks to be under threat from the supermarket land-grab.
November 2012
Big two-bar roadside pub at the back of the Uni, which oddly seems to attract very few students. Has had some internal upgrading work a while back and is looking better for it. Usually a couple of mainstream ales on the go (from Pride, Adnams, Courage Best, Doom Bar usually) in decent nick, sometimes alongside a guest (I had Otter last time).

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Three Tuns
Substantial suburban roadhouse, with a fairly plain brick facade enlived with some vegetation. Retains a traditional two-bar layout, with an 'L'-shaped lounge having a few tables set for dining but all the customers in the wholly separate public bar. Furniture and decor verging on the basic, but with a few touches suggesting aspirations to go a bit more up market. A little patio furniture out front. Mixed clientele, including some students. Doom Bar and a decent pint of Southwold (£3.30) available from the three handpumps in each bar.
