This pub has (like many) a new landlord, he is called Monty and is a well known local lad. The guy is doing a great job and the place is bouncing at weekend and pleasently full weekdays. The ale is absolutely spot on and the place is spotless.
He has recently reopened the fire place and now in the colder weather has a great wood fire burning, there is specialist nights for quiz and poker enthusiasts coupled with live entertainment Saturdays.
Football fans are well catered for with about four large screen televisions. He is a Burnley fan which is a little sad.
For those that do not know Monty it is as well you know the guy is puddled before you visit his pub. But he is quite an entertaining chap and his staff are always warm and welcoming.
I would love to give him a ten but lets be honest there is always room for improvement.Oh by the way nearly forgot his mum makes some tea cakes with various fillings at the weekend better mention that or she will batter me. So in short if you want to have a laugh and a great pint in good company get yourself up to the vic, see you there.
