Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wheatsheaf

One of a pair of side-by-side pubs in a fairly remote location, which seems an odd arrangement (especially as they were a single unit previously)? Anyway, this one has a colourful semi-modern front beer garden but is very traditional inside the rustic bar and side dining room. Whitstable Bay Pale is usually available from the single handpump, but unfortunately that had run out when I visited. Following a discussion with the landlord about the bottled ale options, I went for the Kentish Pale Ale from Shepherd Neame (£4.00).

The conjoined twin of The Walnut Tree next door, this is the quieter and more welcoming of the two. The garden is reasonably sheltered though it is cacophonic due to the jukebox competing with next door’s karaoke. The garden has a series of seating areas and is surrounded by neat planters, topiary and what appeared to be aviaries. Inside, there are two bars, one of which has a pool table and dartboard at one end. There is a comfortable carpeted area with a woodburner. The landlord was very welcoming, had some good banter and service was efficient. Food seemed to be mainly freshly made pizzas although apparently they do do other pub grub. There was only one ale on, Whitstable Bay Pale Ale, which was in good enough condition. Probably the best bet if you are in this part of the island.
