Excellent village pub with seating / dining areas on each side of the central counter (both very traditional, but one part lighter than the other). None of these are large, so it had a homely atmosphere on a busy Sunday afternoon. As a Greene King house, it was no surprise to find IPA on one of the pair of handpumps, with a decent pint of Tribute (£4.90) available from the other.

Feared the worse when I checked on Google Maps and saw its a Greene King. This was the first pub I met on stage 2 of the London Countryway, so with limited choice, I thought I'd check it out.

Wonderful. Very quirky and not a bit chainy. Full of nick nacks in the bar/restaurant and jokes in the loos chalkboard. Food looked good.

Two real ales on - the eponymous IPA and a surprising TT Landlord - which was in good condition.

A delightful village pub.
