Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Cock Horse

Traditional Greene King pub on the Pilgrims Way, still serving passing walkers and cyclists as well as the village. Partly opened-out and refurbished inside, but retaining some character in the various small seating areas around the bar with some local history photographs on display. Two further dining areas can be seen up several steps further back. Also has a rear beer garden and a few wooden benches out front. With three of the four handpumps in use, I found IPA (£4.10) and Old Speckled Hen plus Tribute as a guest.

E TA left this review about The Cock Horse Inn

As the name suggests, this Victorian village pub is named after the station where a cock horse was added to a brake to assist it up a steep hill, Detling Hill being one such. This pleasant village pub now acts as a local and restaurant, being family friendly and convenient for Pilgrim's Way, the A20 and the A249. The single large L-shaped bar has grown into an extension of the original building, with the rear half laid out for diners, leaving the drinking area a bit cramped but cosy nonetheless. Floors are a mix of carpet and tiles, and the decor is plain. There is a busy social calender which includes poker and quiz nights. There is a strong local atmosphere, yet visitors are welcomed. Two ales on - I had Speckled Hen which was too cold and rather tasteless. A pleasant place to spend time and have a meal, but the beer could be better.
